General FAQs

  • Are pets allowed?

Palm Court Nursing Home promotes a culture where it recognises the benefits that animals can have on the wellbeing of residents and will aim to accommodate a Resident's pet and visiting animals.

However, a risk assessment will be carried out where the health and wellbeing of Residents and staff will take precedence when considering the accommodation of a pet or visiting animal.

In the event that it is not appropriate for a pet to reside at the home, we can liaise with relatives to help organise alternative arrangements.

  • Do I need my own Contents Insurance?

As part of our Admissions Process, an inventory of all your belongings are recorded.

We encourage any high value items to be insured separately, which will be at the cost of the resident.

  • Can I have visitors?

Relatives are welcome at any time of day but we do recommend to notify us 24 hours beforehand.

To make the most of your visit, we encourage visitors to come in the morning between 10am and 11:30am (before lunch) and between 1:30pm and 4:30pm (before tea).

If you would like to dine with your loved ones, especially after a long journey, simply let the Manager know in advance who can book you in for lunch or tea for a small additional charge.

  • Can you meet my dietary requirements?

Yes, as part of our Admissions Process, we gather and record information in relation to nutritional and hydration preferences including food allergies to determine how we can meet your dietary needs whilst ensuring that assessments and individualised plans of care identify risk, choice and promote independence.

Palm Court Nursing Home recognises that good nutrition plays a vital role in wellbeing and health and that malnutrition or dehydration can have a huge impact on the physical and mental health of Residents and their ability to carry out everyday activities.

A Care Plan is produced for all Residents that details the wishes, preferences, abilities and support required in relation to meeting nutrition and hydration needs.
